DRIVEN CLUTCH DISASSEMBLY INSPECTION, CONT4Push helix inwardRemove snap ring, washer, helix, and springThe spring is compression spring only and has no torsional windNOTE: Rotating the moveable sheave so that the rollers are not in contact with either helix ramp surfaces will lessen the effort needed to push helix inward
5Remove spring seat washer and inspect for wear or damageReplace if worn6Inspect surface of rollers for flat spots and wearRollers must rotate freely on pins without excessive clearanceCheck the roller pin and roller bore for wear and replace if necessary

NOTE: ROLLER PIN DISASSEMBLY New roller retaining bolts have dry locking agent applied to the threadsBefore attempting to remove the roller pins, heat the threaded area lightly with propane torchUse high quality hexagonal wrench (Allen) in good condition to avoid screw damageA small amount of valve grinding compound can be applied to the tip of the hex wrench to ensure tight fitAlways use new bolts if they are removed for inspectionApply Loctite 680 retaining compound sparingly to the tapered head portion of the roller retaining screwsDo not allow locking agent to contact the inside of the rollersDo not lubricate the roller or roller pin
