OIL AND FILTER CHANGE, CONT15Place shop towels beneath oil filterUsing an oil filter wrench, turn filter counterclockwise to remove16Using clean dry cloth, clean filter sealing surface on crankcase17Lubricate O-ring on new filter with film of engine oilCheck to make sure the O-ring is in good condition18Install new filter and turn by hand until filter gasket contacts the sealing surface, then turn and additional 12 turn19Approximately cup of engine oil will remain in the crankcaseTo drain, remove drain plug found on lower right side of crankcaseNOTE: The sealing surfaces on the drain plug and crankcase should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches20Reinstall drain plug21Remove dipstick and fill tank with quarts (1.9 l) of Polaris Premium synthetic oil22Place gear selector in neutral and set parking brake23Prime oil pump using procedure belowStop the engine and inspect for leaks24Re-check the oil level on the dipstick and add oil as necessary to bring the level to the upper mark on the dipstick25Dispose of used filter and oil properlyCrankcase Drain
