Jetting Compensation for Altitude and Temperature
Maximum engine efficiency and horsepower are directly related to proper carburetor settingsThe following charts have been established as guideline for selecting optimum jetting for varying temperature and altitude conditionsAir screw adjustments will affect theO to 18 throttle setting and should be adjusted as follows: Turn the air screw in (clockwise) 14 turn for each 300 below 60 FTurn the air screw out (counterclockwise) 14 turn for each 30 above 60 FIMPORTANT: The following guidelines must be followed when establishing main jet setting: 123Select the lowest anticipated temperature at which the machine will be operatedDetermine the lowest approximate altitude at which the machine will be operatedTracing down and across on the chart, use the intersecting main jet recommendationAltitude-Meters (Feet) 0-900 (0-3000) 900-1500 (3000-5000) 1500-2200 (5000-7000) 2200-3000 (7000-9000) 3000-3400 (9000-11000) -200 175 170 160 145 140 0+20 170 160 150 140 135 +20+40 160 155 145 135 130 +40+60 155 150 140 130 125 +60+80 150 145 135 125 120 +80+100 145 140 130 120 115
