Choke Cable Adjustment
Choke adjustment is performed with the choke lever in the "off" position
1Remove fuel tankSee page 7.1302Remove diaphragm chamber cover, spring, and vacuum slide assemblySee carburetor disassembly, pages 7.1347.1363Lift choke lever to first position (12 choke)4Inspect choke plunger position in the air bleed holeLoosen choke cable adjuster lock nut on carburetorTurn adjusting screw in or out until choke plunger uncovers 12 of the air bleed hole5Lift choke lever to full open position (full choke)The air bleed hole should now be uncovered completely6Turn choke lever off7Check for small amount of freeplay at the lever before the choke plunger starts to moveTighten cable adjuster lock nut8Install diaphragm chamber cover, spring, and vacuum slide assemblySee carburetor assembly, pages 7.140 -7.142
