it off the pistonCAUTION: Do not expand the ring more than the amount necessary to remove it from the piston, or the ring may breakBy hand: Placing both thumbs as shown, spread the ring open and push up on the opposite sideDo not scratch the ring lands4Repeat procedure for second ring
The oil control ring is three piece design consisting of top and bottom steel rail and center expander sectionThe top rail has locating tab on the end which fits into notch in the upper oil ring land of the piston56Remove the top rail first followed by the bottom railRemove the expander
