ENGINES 1The engine can be reinstalled into the frame and securedThe oil pump and carburetor can also be assembled onto the engineBleed the oil pump of trapped air by loosening the bleed screw (A) for few seconds, then tightenInstall the air box and filter elementNOTE: If the crankcase or oil pump have been replaced, check the oil pump and end playas outlined on page 7.49Make sure the vent line from the carburetor is routed to the upper part of the frame (B)Check the vent line and be sure it is not pinched or kinkedInstall string around the outside of the seal and down into the seal lipPosition the inner cover against the seal and pull outward on the stringThis action will engage the lip seal with the coverInstall silicone sealer between the engine seal and the inner clutch coverBe sure to install the small seal behind the inner clutch cover at the transmission input shaftInstall the drive systemCheck clutch alignment and belt tension as outlined in Chapter 6, PVT sectionTorque the drive clutch bolt to 40 ftIbs(5.5 kgm)Use silicone sealer on the outer sealing area of the cover mating surfacesInstall the gasket with the flat side positioned against the inner coverJoin the air duct outlets with the sealing bootUse cable tie on the boot to insure proper sealing
