ENGINES Stroke Engine Maintenance Air Filter It is recommended that the air filter be replaced yearlyWhen riding in extremely dusty conditions replacement will be required more oftenThe pre filter should be cleaned before each ride, using the following procedure
Pre-Filter Service
1Lift up on the rear of the seat2Pull the seat back and free of the tabsNOTE: When reinstalling seat, make sure the slots in the seat engage the tabs in the fuel tankRemove splash guard foam securing pre-filterRemove pre-filter elementNote position of duct support wireIt must be properly positioned before reinstalling pre-filterClean the element with high flash point solvent, followed by hot soapy waterRinse and dry thoroughlyInspect element for tears or damageApply foam filter oil or clean engine oil and squeeze until excess oil is removedReinstall pre-filter element making sure duct support wire is in proper positionSecure splash guard foam removed in step 3Do not allow splash guard foam to restrict air intakeDo not tuck the element under the noise baffle foamRemove the two wing nuts and washers securing the air filter access cover
