ENGINES Stroke Engine Maintenance Oil and Filter Change Cont89101112Place shop towels beneath oil filterUsing an oil filter wrench, turn filter counterclockwise to removeUsing clean dry cloth, clean filter sealing surface on crankcaseLubricate O-ring on new filter with film of engine oilCheck to make sure the O-ring is in good conditionInstall new filter and turn by hand until filter contacts gasket, then turn and additional 112 turnApproximately cup of engine oil will remain in the crankcaseTo drain, remove drain plug found on lower right side of crankcaseNOTE: The sealing surfaces on the drain plug and crankcase should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratchesReinstall drain plugRemove dipstick and fill tank with quarts (1.9 I) of Polaris Premium synthetic oilPlace gear selector in neutral and set parking brakeStart the engine and let it idle for one to two minutesStop the engine and inspect for leaksRe-check the oil level on the dipstick and add oil as necessary to bring the level to the upper mark on the dipstickDispose of used filter and oil properly
