ENGINES Stroke Maintenance Any time oil starvation is suspected, proceed as follows: 1With the oil reservoir full and the pump bled, remove the oil delivery line from the intake manifold2Test the check valve in the oil delivery, filling with low pressure pump and gaugeThe valve will release at betweenPSIIf not, replace the valve3Start the engine and lift the oil pump lever to the full open position4Oil should pulse from the delivery line every few secondsIf it does not, suspect one of the following: AInlet filter pluggedOil tank vent line pinched or blocked BOil lines leaking or blocked CDefective oil pump or drive mechanism

Drain the housing periodically to remove moisture

Remove the bottom chain guard to get access to the drain plugRemove the drain plug and let the oil drain fullyCatch and discard used oil properlyRe-install the plug and chain guard
