PVT SYSTEM Drive Clutch Disassembly 6Remove shift weight bolts and weightsInspect as shownThe contact surface ofthe weight should be smooth and free of dents or gall marksInspect the weight pivot bore and pivot bolts for wear or gallingIf weights or bolts are worn or broken, replace in sets of three with new boltsNOTE: damaged shift weight is usually caused by damaged or stuck roller in the spider assemblySee roller inspection, page 6.22

Inspect spider button to tower clearanceIf clearance exists, replace all buttons and O-ringsThe leading edge button has an O-Ring behind itThe trailing edge button has flat rubber washer behind itSee spider removalInspect sheave surfacesReplace the entire service clutch if worn, damaged or crackedWARNING: The clutch assembly is precisely balanced unitNever replace parts with used parts from another clutch assembly!
