4Inspect area on shaft where bushing rides for wear, galling, nicks, or scratchesReplace clutch assembly if worn or damaged5Remove and inspect spring
With the spring resting on flat surface, measure its free length from the outer coil surfaces as shownRefer to the spring specification chart for specific free length measurements and tolerancesAlso check to see that spring coils are parallel to one anotherDistortion ofthe spring indicates stress fatigue, requiring replacement
