FINAL DRIVE SYSTEM SERVICE Chain And Sprocket Service When servicing Polaris ATVs always inspect chain conditionIf the a-rings are missing or damaged the chain should be replacedDO NOT wash the chain with high pressure washer, gasoline or solvents, as damage to the a-rings may occurLubricate the chain with Polaris a-ring chain lubricant (PN 2B71 079)Sprocket Inspection

To check sprocket wear, pull outward on the chain as shownReplace sprocket if movement when pulling outward exceeds 14" (.6 cm)NOTE: When chain is replaced, new sprockets should also be installedChain Inspection The chain must be replaced when it reaches elongationTwenty pitches measure 12.5" (32 cm) when new, therefore it must be replaced when measurement reaches 12.B75" (32.7 cm) when fully stretchedIf a-rings are missing or connector plates are loose the chain must be replacedChain Adjustment Inspection
