2-22 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Periodic Maintenance Procedures
Remove the reservoir cap, and fill the reservoir to the upper level line
[A] in the reservoir with the same type and brand of the fluid that is already in the reservoirAnd then install the reservoir cap
Change the fluid in the brake line completely if the fluid must be refilled but the type and brand of the fluid that is already in the reservoir are unidentified
Tighten:
Torque Reservoir Cap Screws1.5 N1m (0.15 kgf1m, 13 in1lb)

Brake Fluid Change

Remove the front wheels (see WheelsTires chapter).bleed valvecap the rubber cap on the Remove the reservoir hoseandthe bleed valve on the caliper, and run plastic to Attach clear of the hose into containerthe other end Fill the reservoir with new brake fluidas Change the brake fluid[A]follows:
Open the bleed valve

Apply the brake lever and hold it [B]
Close the bleed valve [C]
Release the brake lever [D]
Check the fluid level in the reservoir often, replenishing it as necessary
