Ignition Coil Primary Peak Voltage Inspection NOTE
Be sure the battery is fully charged
Remove: Cover (see Seat Lower Cover Removal in Seat Lower
the Frame chapter) Remove the spark plug cap (see Spark Plug Removal), but do not remove the spark plugMeasure the primary peak voltage as followsConnect commercially peak voltage adapter [A] to the hand tester [B] (250 DC range)Install the needle adapter [C] on the peak voltage adapter leadsSpecial ToolsHand Tester: 57001-1394 Needle Adapter Set: 57001-1457 Peak Voltage Adapter: 57001-1415 Type: KEK-54-9-B
Insert the needle adapter into the terminal of the GW (front) or BLW (rear) primary lead [D]Install new spark plug [E] into the spark plug cap, and ground it to the engine[F] Ignition Coil
