ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 16-35 Ignition System WARNING
The ignition system produces extremely high voltageDo not touch the spark plug, ignition coil, or spark plug lead while the engine is running, or you could receive severe electrical shock
CAUTION
Do not disconnect the battery cables or any other electrical connections when the ignition switch is on, or while the engine is runningThis is to prevent igniter damageDo not install the battery backwardsThe negative side is groundedThis is to prevent damage to the diodes and igniterUse the standard regulatorrectifier, or the igniter will be damaged
Spark Plug Removal
Remove:Upper Cover (see Engine Upper Cover Removal Engine
in the Frame chapter) Spark Plug Cap [A] Using spark plug wrench, remove the spark plug [B]
