Set the tester to the rangeMeasure the secondary winding resistance [B] as follows: Remove the plug cap by turning it counterclockwiseConnect the tester between the spark plug lead and terminalSet the tester to the rangeIgnition Coil Winding Resistance Primary Windings: 2.1 2.5 Secondary Windings: 10 16 k
If the hand tester does not read as specified, replace the ignition coil
Ignition Coil Primary Peak Voltage Inspection NOTE
Be sure the battery is fully chargedplug cap Remove the spark the spark (see Spark Plug Removal), but do not remove plugMeasure the primary peak voltage as follows Connect the peak voltage adapter [A] to the hand tester [B] (1 000 DC range)Install the needle adapter [C] on the peak voltage adapter leadsSpecial ToolsHand Tester: 57001-1394 Needle Adapter Set: 57001-1457 Peak Voltage Adapter: 57001-1415 Type: KEK-54-9-B
