BRAKES 12-13 Master Cylinder
Master Cylinder Inspection (Visual Inspection)
and rear master Disassemble the frontno scratches, rustcylinderson the Check that there are or pitting inner wall of each master cylinder [A] and on the outside of each piston [B]If master cylinder or piston shows any damage, replace themInspect the primary [C] and secondary [D] cupsIf cup is worn, damaged, softened (rotted), or swollen, the piston assembly should be replace to renew the cupsIf fluid leakage is noted at the brake lever, the piston assembly should be replaced to renew the cupCheck the dust covers [E] for damageIf they are damaged, replace themCheck that the relief [F] and supply [G] ports are not pluggedIf the small relief port becomes plugged, the brake pads will drag on the discBlow the ports clean with compressed airCheck the piston return springs [H] for any damageIf spring is damaged, replace it[J] Front Master Cylinder [K] Rear Master Cylinder
