4-10 COOLING SYSTEM Coolant
the up radiator filler neck Fill withradiator [A],to the bottom of theturning it clockwise [B] coolant and install the cap, about 14 turnLean the vehicle slightly to the right until the radiator filler neck is level to the ground so that the filler neck is located uppermost in order to exhaust the air accumulated in the radiator
Pour in the coolant slowly so that it can expel the air from the engine and radiatorThe radiator cap must be installed in two stepsFirst turn the cap clockwise to the first stopThen push down on it and turn it the rest of the way
Check the cooling system for leaksAir Bleeding
Before putting the vehicle into operation, any air trapped in the cooling system must be removed as followsStart the engine, warm up the engine thoroughly, and then stop the engineWait until the engine cools downRemove the radiator capCheck the coolant level (see Coolant Level Inspection in the Periodic Maintenance chapter)If the coolant level is low, add coolant up to the bottom of the filler neckInstall the radiator capCheck the cooling system for leaks
