3INSPECTIONADJUSTMENT To clean the air filter element: 1Wash the element gently but thoroughly in solventWARNING Use parts cleaning solvent onlyNever use gasoline or low flash point solvents which may lead to fire or explosion2Squeeze the excess solvent out of the filter and let it dryCAUTION Do not twist or wring out the foam elementThis could damage the foam material3Inspect the elementIf damaged, replace it4Apply quality foam air filter oil to the elementIf foam air filter oil is not available, motor oil may be usedThe element should be wet but not dripping
5Reinstall the element to the air filter case6Reinstall the element assembly and parts removed for accessApply the engine oilSqueeze out the excess oilCATCH TANK CLEANING Clean the catch tank at the bottom of the filter caseCHANGE INTERVAL More frequent replacement is required when riding in unusually dusty or rainy areas
