If any is worn down to the service limit, replace the brush
plate assembly

Brush Assembly Inspection
Using the range, measure the resistance as shown[A] Terminal Bolt and Positive Brush [B] Brush Plate and Negative Brush If there is not close to zero ohms, the brush lead has an open Replace the brush plate assembly
Brush Plate and Terminal Bolt Inspection
Using the highest range, measure the resistance as follows: [A] Terminal Bolt and RightHand End Cover [B] Terminal Bolt and Brush Plate If there is any reading, the brush holder assembly has shortReplace the brush plate assembly
