13-14 BRAKES Calipers
Install the anti-rattle spring [A] in the caliper as shown Install the pads (see Brake Pad Installation)
Fluid Seal Damage
The fluid seals [A] around the piston maintain the proper paddisc clearanceIf the seals are not satisfactory, pad wear will increase, and constant pad drag on the disc will raise brake and brake flu id temperature Replace the fluid seals in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart or under any of the following conditions: (a) fluid leakage around the pad(b) brakes overheat; (c) there is large difference in inner and outer pad wear; (d) the seal is stuck to the pistonIf the fluid seal is replaced, replace the dust seal as wellAlso, replace all seals every other time the pads are changed

Dust Seal and Friction Boot Damage
Replace the dust seals [B] in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart or check that the dust seals and friction boots [C] are not crackedworn swollenor otherwise damagedIf they show any damage, replace them Visually inspect the piston [D] and cylinder surfacesscored or rusty
