Pinion Gear Unit Assembly
OThe pinion gear and ring gear are lapped as set in the factory to get the best tooth contactThey must be replaced as set Visually inspect the bearing for abrasioncolor change, or other damageIf there is any doubt as to the condition of bearing, replace the bearing Be sure to check and adjust the bevel gear backlash and tooth contact, when any of the backlash-related parts are replaced (see Front Final Bevel Gear Adjustment) Press the bearing [A] on the pinion gear until it is bottomed Install the pinion gear bearing holder nut [B] so that the projection [C] faces outward Apply non-permanent locking agent (Three Bond: TB2471 Blue) to the pinion gear bearing holder nut [A], and tighten itSpecial ToolsSocket Wrench [B]: 57001-1363 Pinion Gear Holder, m1.667 [C]: 57001-1480 TorquePinion Gear Bearing Holder Nut: kgfm, 116 ftlb) 157 Nm (16HK140013S1 C
