FINAL DRIVE 12-53 Rear Final Gear Case
Rear Final Gear Case Oil Level Inspection
Park the vehicle so that it is level, both side-to-side and fro nt-to-rea Remove the filler cap
CAUTION
Be careful not to allow any dirt or foreign materials to enter the gear case
Check the oil levelThe oil level should come to the bottom of the filler opening [A]
If it is insufficient, first check the rear final gear case for oil
leakage, remedy it if necessary, and add oil through the filler openingUse the same type and brand of oil that is already in the final gear case Apply grease to the a-ring Be sure the a-ring is in placeTorqueOil Filler Cap: 29 N'm (3.0 kgfm, 22 ft'lb) Refer to the Rear Final Gear Case Oil Change in the Periodic Maintenance chapter
