PERIODIC MAINTENANCE 2-29 Periodic Maintenance Procedures
Remove: Handlebar Cover Screws [A] Handlebar Cover Front [8]
Loosen the locknut [A] of the differential control cable Turn the adjuster [8] until the cable has proper amount of play Tighten the locknut securely
Front Final Gear Case Oil Change
Warm up the oil by running the vehicle so that the oil will pick up any sediment and drain easilyThen stop the vehicle Park the vehicle so that it is levelboth side-to-side and front-to-rear Remove the front side cover (see Frame chapter) Place an oil pan beneath the front final gear case and remove the drain plug [A]
A WARNING
When draining or filling the final gear case, be careful that no oil gets on the tire or rimClean off any oil that inadvertently gets on them with high-flash point solvent
