Coolant Deterioration Inspection
Visu ally in spect the coolant in the reserve tank [A]If whitish cotton -like wafts are observedal uminum parts in the cooling system are corrod edIf the coolant is brown, iron or steel parts are rustingIn either caseflush the cooling system If the coolant gives off an abnormal smell, check fo cooling system leakIt may be caused by exhaust gas leaking into the cooling system
Coolant Level Inspection
OCheck the level when the engine is cold (room or ambient temperature)
Check the coolant level in the reserve tank with the vehicle held perpendicu larlyReserve Tank [AJ (full) Mark [8] (low) Mark [C]If the coolant level is lower than the mark, Remove the reserve tank cap [AJthen add coo lant to the ma rk [8]
