PERIODIC MAINTENANCE 2-33 Periodic Maintenance Procedures
Tu rn the brake lever adju ster [A] at the rear end of th brake cab le until the rear brake lever has the correct amou nt of play
Brake Peda l: Turn th brake pedal adj uster [8] at the rear end of th brake cable until th brake pedal has the correct amount of play
Operate the pedal few times to see that it retu rns to its rest position immediately upon release Rotate the rear wheels to check for brake drag Check braking effectiveness If there is any doubt as to the conditions of the brake, check the brake parts for wear or damage

Steering Inspection
Turn the handlebar left and right, and check the steering action If the steering action is not smooth, or if the steeri ng binds or catches before the stop, lubricate the steering stem bearing
