RECOIL STARTER 6-5 Recoil Starter

Remove: Pawl [A]
Pin [B] Friction Plate Spring [C] Recoil Guide [D] Collar [E]

Remove the reel [A] noting the followingWARNING
Be careful that the recoil spring [B] does not fly loose and does not injure youIt is still under great pressureTurn the reel one-quarter turn counterclockwise past the rest position where no tension can be feltNow, slowly lift the reel straight up out of the housing
There should be no spring tension on the reel when removing the reelLift the reel slightlyIf tension is felt, push the reel back into place and gently "wiggle" it until the reel may be easily removedfollows: If necessary, remove the recoil spring [A] asbenchPlace the starter housing facing down on a
