4-12 ENGINE TOP END Camshaft Sprocket
Camshaft Sprocket Removal
Remove: (see Fuel System chapter) Fuel Tank
Front Fender (see Frame chapter) Recoil Starter (see Recoil Starter chapter) Bolts [A] and Camshaft Cover [B]
the wrench on Turnuntil crankshaft with [A] on the the alternator rotor bolt the punch mark camshaft sprocket aligns with the pointer [B] on the cylinder headRemove the camshaft chain tensioner (see Camshaft Chain Tensioner Removal)Remove the camshaft sprocket bolt [C]Hold the crankshaft from turning with wrench on the alternator rotor boltSlide the sprocket off the shoulder on the camshaft and out from under the chain
