Pickup Coil Inspection
Measure the pickup coil resistanceConnect an ohmmeter between the pickup coil leadsSpecial Tool Hand Tester: 57001-1394
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the pickup coilAlternator Rotor Inspection
Pickup Coil Resistance Standard: 390590 0
.Check the timing projection [A] for damage such as chipping or groovingIf the timing projection on the rotor is visibly damaged, replace the alternator rotor
