Remove the reel [AJ noting the followingAWARNING
Be careful that the recoil spring [8] does not fly loose and does not injure youIt is still under great pressureTurn the reel one-quarter turn counterclockwise past the rest position where no tension can be feltNow, slowly lift the reel straight up out of the housing
o There should be no
spring tension on the reel when removing the reelLeft the reel slightlyIf tension is felt, push the reel back into place and gently "wiggle" it until the reel may be easily removed
o Place the starter housing facing down on
elf necessary, remove the recoil spring as followsa bencho Strike the bench sharply to safely remove the spring

elf the recoil spring was removed, install it as shownIf it is not installed correctly, the starter will not operate properly
