BRAKES 11-5 Brake Adjustment 000

WARNING

Front Brake Adjustment
Disc and disc pad wears are automatically compensated for and have no effect on brake lever actionThere are no parts that require adjustment on the front brakeHowever if the brake lever has soft, or "spongy feel ing," check the brake flu id level in the master cylinder and bleed the air from the brake line (see Bleeding the Brake Line)NOTE
oCheck the brake fluid level in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart
not adjust the push rod so that its lower end in the clevis is invisibleIf the rod falls out of the clevis, the brake will not workAlways keep the end projection more than mm from the nut in the clevis, but it should not touch the brake pedal lever end when the brake is applied
-Turn out the stopper until it touches the brake pedal lever and then tighten the stopper locknut
Parking Brake Adjustment
In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart, adjust the parking brake cable-Loosen the locknuts at the rear caliper bracket to give the cable plenty of play-Loosen the locknut on the cam lever and turn in the adjusting screw as far as it will go
