FINAL DRIVE 109 Rear Axle and Bearing
eRemove the sprocket flange ring using the piston ring compressor (special tool)
Rear Axle Removal
eSupport the rear of the vehicle on stable stand with both rear wheels off the groundeRemove the following partsRear Wheels and Hubs Drive Chain (just remove it from the sprocket) Rear Caliper (just remove it from the disc) Chain and Disc Guard Rear Axle Locknuts (use common hand tools) Disc and Disc Holder

APiston Ring Compressor: 57001115 eRemove the rear sprocket and sprocket flange
Rear Axle Installation Notes
oThe installation is the reverse of removalNote the followingeApply grease to the following partsRight and Left Housing Seal Lips O-rings next to Bearings Rear Axle Splines eBe sure to install the ring and the left-hand O-ring on the axle shaftelnstall the axle shafteBe sure to install the right-hand Oring next to the right-hand bearingelnstall the disc and disc holdereTighten the rear axle locknuts and the hub nuts to the specified torque (see Exploded View)
