10-4 FINAL DRIVE
Drive Chain
The drive chain must be checked, adjusted, and lubricated for safety and to prevent excessive wearIf the chain becomes badly worn or maladjusted either too loose or too tight the chain could jump off the sprockets or break
Drive Chain Slack Adjustment -Loosen the clamp bolts on both ends of the swing arm
WARNING
AChain Adjuster Clamp Bolts

OA chain that breaks or jumps off the spr,ockets could snag on the engine sprocket or lock the rear wheels, severely damaging the vehicle and causing it to go out of controloFor safety, use only the standard chainIt is an endless type and should not be cut for installation
Drive Chain Slack Inspection -Stop the engi ne
-Insert suitable bar or the bar provided in the tool kit into the hole in the bearing housing and turn it upward or downward until the drive chain has the correct amount of chain slack
