Shift Drum Removal
eRemove the following parts Right Engine Cover Clutch Shift Shaft eRemove the gear positioning levereRemove the shift drum Allen bolt
Transmission Removal
eSplit the crankcase (see Crankcase Splitting)eRemove the following parts from the inside of the crankcaseShift Rods Shift Forks Drive Shaft and Output Shaft Assemblies Reverse Shaft

Transmission Installation Notes
eApply little engine oil to the transmission gears, needle bearings, and shaft journalselnstall the correct shift forks in the right direction as shownOThe long shift forks for the output shaft are identicaleApply little engine oil to the shift fork fingers, and fit each shift fork into its gear grooveeApply little engine oil to the shift rods, and insert the short shift rod, running it through the drive shaft shift forkInsert the long shift rod, running it through the output shaft forks
