CRANKSHAFTTRANSMISSION Primary Gear eReplace the lockwasher with new one, and install the washer fitting the tooth into the notch in the oil pump drive geareChange the gear holder position to hold the primary gear and the clutch housing, then tighten the primary gear nut to the specified torque (see Exploded View)
Primary Gear Removal eRemove the following parts before primary gear removalRight Engine Cover Oil Pump (see Engine Lubrication System chapter) eUsing the gear holder (special tool) to prevent the clutch and primary gear from turning, loosen the primary gear nutoFix the gear holder by tightening the holder mounting bolt, nuts and link bolteRemove the clutch housing and oil pump drive gear, then remove the primary gear

eBend the tab portion of the lockwasher over the nut
