4-18 ENGINE TOP END eRemove "the following parts before valve clearance inspectionRear Fender Front Fender Cylinder Head Cover Upper and Center Plugs on the Magneto Cover eUsing wrench on the magneto flywheel bolt, turn the crankshaft counterclockwise while watching the movement of the inlet valves (valves to the rear)eWhen the valves have just finished opening and closing (moving downwards and returning upwards), turn the crankshaft in the same direction for about another 13 tum until the TDC mark on the magneto flywheel is aligned with the notch in the inspection window in the magneto coverValve Clearance (when cold) Inlet, Exhaust: 0.200.24 mm
Valve Clearance Adjustment
If the valve clearance is incorrect, loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting screw until the correct clearance is obtainedeTighten the locknut to the specified torque (see Exploded View)
