ELECTRIC STARTER Install the hose guide and mounting boltsthen tigh ten the bolts securelyInstall the starter motor cable and term inal nut, and tighten the nutInstal the rubber cap over the cab le terminalInstall the passenger seat under cover (page 36)

OPERATION INSPECTION
Remove the battery box cover (page 21-6) Shift the sub-t ransm ission into Neutral (set the gear selector leve in th cen ter position)Turn the ignition switch to START (II) The coil is normal if the starter relay switch cl icksIf you don 't hear the switch clickinspect the relay switch circuits (page 23-' 2)
CIRCUIT INSPECTION
Remove the battery box cover (page 21-6) Disconnect the starter relay switch 2P green connectorGROUND LIN Check for continuity between the Lig greenblack wire terminal of the ire harness side connector and groundIf the re is continuity when the sub-transmission is in Neutral, or when the brake pedal is depressed with the ignition switch turned to ON (I), the ground ci rcuit is normalPOWER INPUT LIN Measure the voltage between the Yellowred wire terminal (+) of the ire harness side connector and ground If the battery vo ltage appea rs on ly when the ignition switch is turned to START (Illthe power input circui is normalU
