ALTERNATOR CHARGING COIL
INSPECTION
Remove the engine front cover (page 3-6) Remove the alternator 6P lack connector from he stay and disconnect itCheck the connector for loose contacts or corroded terminalsMeasure th resistance between the Yellow wire terminals of the alternator side connectorSTANDARD: 0.110 (a 20 C 68F)
Check for con tinuity between each Yellow wire ter minal of the alternator side conn ector and groundThere should be no con tinuityReplace the al ternator stator if resis tance is out of specificationor if any wire has continuity to round Alternator stator replacement (page 11-5l

WIRE HARNESS INSPECTION
Open the fro nt ho od Disconnect the regu latorrectifier 3P black and gray connectors Check he connectors for loose co ntacts or corroded termi nalsCheck the following at the wire harness side connectors Battery Line: Measure the voltage between the Red wire termina and ground There should be battery voltage at all times Ground Line: Check the continuity between the Green wire termina and groundThere should be con inuity at all times Charging Coi LineMeasure he resistance between the Yel low ire terminals STANDARD: 0.11.0 (a t
