TIE-ROD AND JOINT BOOT
Raise the front wheel off the ground (page 1-48)Check the tie-rod joi nt nuts for loosenessCheck the ba ll joint boots of the tie-rod for tears or other damageCheck for any looseness of the tie-rod ball joints by holding and attempting to move the wheel at the top and bottom and at the front and rear If any looseness is notedins pect the follow ingtie-rod (page 16-14) and ball joint (page 16-8)knuckle bearing (page 15-'0) TIE -ROD
