COOLING SYSTEM
RADIATOR COOLANT
Release th retaining straps and open the front ,hoodCheck the coolant level of the reserve tank it the engine running at normal operating temperatureThe level should be between theMAXandIN" level lines with the vehicl upright on level surface If th leve is low, remove the reserve tank cap and fill the tank up to theMAXlevel line with 1:1 mixture distilled water and antifreeze (coolant preparation: page 7-5)
RECOMMENDED ANTIFREEZE:
Pro Ho nda HP coolant or an equivalent high qual ity ethylene glycol antifreeze containing si licatefree corrosion inhibitors
Using coolant with silicate corrosion inhibitors may cause premature wear of water pump seals or blockage of radiator passagesUsing tap wacer may ca use engine damageCheck to see if there are any coolant leaks when he coola nt level decrea ses very rap idlyIf the reserve tank becomes comple te ly empty, there is possibility of air getting into the cooling systemBe sure to remove any air from the cooling system (page 7-6)
