ENGINE OIL
LEVEL CHECK
Check th oil level after starting the engi ne and al lowing he oil to circulate through the engine thorough ly, It is especially important on dry sump eng ine, due the comparatively large vol ume of oi Do not snap the throttle whi le id ling or the il level reading ill be inaccurate, Place the veh icle on level groundStart the engine and let it idle forminutes, If the air temperature is below 10 (50 F)let he engine idle for an additional minutes (a tota of 10 minutes), Stop the engine and wait forminutes, Remove the driver seat cushion (page 3-4) and release the rubber sheet from the tabs, Remove the dipstick and wipe it cleanCheck the oi level by inserting the dipstick into the engine without screwing it inThe eng ine contains sufficient amount of oi if the oil level is between the upper and lower level marks on the dipsti ck
