ELECTRIC STARTER
STARTER RELAY SWITCH
OPERATION INSPECTION
Remove the rear fender (page 2-5) Shift the transmission into neutra lMake sure the engine stop switch is turned to
Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the starter swit chThe coil is normal if the starter relay switch cl icksIf you don't hear the switch click, and inspect the relay switch circuits (page 18-13)
CIRCUIT INSPECTION
Remove the rear fender (page 2-5)Release the clamp and slide the rubber boot off connectorsDisconnect the starter relay switch 2P (Green) connectorCheck the connector for loose contacts or corroded terminals
GROUND LINE
Check for continuity between the Yellowgreen wire terminal of wire harness side connector and groundIf there is continuity when the transmission IS In neutral or when the transmission is into gear and the clutch lever is squeezed, the ground circuit is normal(In neutral, there is slight resistance due to the diode) CLAMP
