REMOVAL
Remove the cotter pinsBe careful not to damage the ball joint boots
Remove the ball Joint nuts while holding the joint stud flats with an open end wrenchRemove the tie-rod from the knuckle and steering shaft arm
INSPECTION
Inspect the tie-rod for distortion or damageInspect the ball joint boots for tears or other damage by moving the ball joint studsThey should move freely and smoothlyReplace the ball joint if necessary
