MAINTENANCE
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
The front brake light switch cannot be adjustedIf the front brake light switch actuation and brake engagement are off, either replace the switch unit or the malfunctioning parts of the system Check that the brake light comes on just prior to the brake actually being engagedIf the light fails to come on, adjust the switch so that the light comes on at the proper timeHold the switch body and turn the adjusting nutDo not turn the switch body
BRAKE SYSTEM
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM INSPECTION
Firmly apply the brake lever or pedal and check that no air has entered the system If the brake lever or pedal feels soft or spongy when operated, bleed the system For air bleeding procedures (page 15-7)Inspect the brake hoses and fittings for deterioration, cracks, damage or signs of leakageTighten any loose fittingsRep lace hoses, pipes and fittings as required
