MAINTENANCE Remove the oil ilter and springCoat new O-rings with eng ine oil and install them into the grooves in the filter cover and crankcase coverInstalling the oil filter backwards will resulr in severe engme damage
Install the spring onto the lug and new oil filter with the "OUT-SIDEmark facing out, then install the cover and tighten the boltsTORQUE: 10 N'm (1.0 kgfm, 7Ibfft) Fil the engine with the recommended engine oil (page 3-11)BOLTS
ENGINE IDLE SPEED
Inspect and adjust idle speed after all other engine maintenance items have been performed and are within specifications Engine must be warm for accurate adjustmentTen minutes of stop-and-go riding is sufficientWarm up the engine, shift the transmission into neutral and place the vehicle on level surface Connect tachometerCheck the idle speed and adjust by turning the throttle stop screw as required IDLE SPEED: 1,400 100 rpm
