MAINTENANCE Check the insulator for cracks or damage, and the electrodes for wear, fouling or discolorat ionReplace the plug if necessaryRECOMMENDED SPARK PLUG: Standard: DR8ESl (NGK), X24ESRU (DENSO) For cold climate (below 5C41 F) DR7ES (NGK), X22ESRU (DENSO) For extended high speed riding DR8ES (NGK), X27ESRU (DENSO)
INSULATOR SIDE ELECTRODE
Clean the spark plug electrodes with wire brush or- , special plug cleanerCheck the gap between the center and side electrodes with wire type feeler gaugeSPARK PLUG GAP: 0.60.7 mm (0.0240.028 in) If necessary, adjust the gap by bend ing the side electrode carefully Thread the spark plug in by hand to prevent crossthreading and tighten it with spark plug wrench TORQUE: 18 N'm (1 .8 kgfm, 13Ibf.ft) Connect the spark plug cap
