LIGHTSMETERSSWITCHES Suspend the ECT sensor in pan of coolant (5050 mixture) on an electric heating element and measure the resistance through the sensor as the coolant heats upNOTE: Soak the element in coolant up to its threads with at least 40 mm (1.57 in) from the bottom of the pan to the bottom of the sensor Keep the temperature constant for minutes before testingA sudden change of temperature will result in incorrect readingsDo not let the thermometer or ECT sensor touch the panResistance: 0.150.16 k2 at 100C (212F) 0.080.10 kti at 120C (248F) Replace the ECT sensor if it is out of specifications by more than 10 at any temperature listedAlways replace the Install the new O-ring and ECT sensorO-ring with new Tighten the ECT sensor to the specified torquene' TORQUE: 12 (1.2 kgf-m, Ibf-ft) Connect the ECT sensor 2P (Black) connectorInstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removalFill and bleed the cooling system (page 7-7)ECTSENSOR THERMOMETER
