FINAL DRIVE DISASSEMBLY INSPECTION
BACKLASH INSPECTION
Remove the oil filler capInstall the special tool into the pinion joint, and set the final drive assembly and tool in viseTOOL: Pinion holder 07SMB-HM70200 PINION HOLDER
Install the drive shaft into the final drive assembly and hold it
Set horizontal type dial indicator on the ring gear through the filler holeTurn the ring gear back and forth with the drive shaft to read backlashSTANDARD: 0.05-0.25 mm (0.002-0.010 in) SERVICE LIMIT: 0.4 mm (0.02 in) Remove the dial indicatorTurn the ring gear 120" and measure backlashRepeat this procedure once moreCompare the difference of the three measurementsSERVICE LIMIT: 0.2 mm (0.01 in)
