ELECTRIC STARTER INPUT LINE INSPECTION Disconnect the starter relay switch Yellowred wire connectorMeasure the voltage between the wire harness side connector terminal (+) and ground (-) Turn the ignition switch to ON Battery voltage should be indicated when the starter switch is pushed
GROUND LINE INSPECTION
Disconnect the starter relay switch Light green wire connectorCheck for continuity between the wire harness side connector terminal and groundThere should be continuity when the transmission is in neutral
CONTINUITY INSPECTION
Remove the seat (page 3-4) and toolbox coverDisconnect the negative (-) cable from the batteryDisconnect the starter relay switch wire connectorsRemove the battery (+) cable and starter motor cable from the starter relay switch Connect an ohmmeter to the starter relay switch cable terminals Connect the fully charged 12 battery positive terminal to the Yellowred wire connector terminal and negative terminal to the Light green wire connector terminal of the starter relay switchThere should be continuity between the cable terminals while the battery is connected, and no continuity when the battery is disconnectedBATIERY STARTER RELAY SWITCH
