BEARING INSPECTION
Turn the inner race of each bearing in the gear case and case cover with your fingerThe bearings should turn smoothly and quietlyAlso check that the bearing outer race fits tightly in the case or coverFor ring gear bearing replacement, see page 16-14
GEAR TOOTH CONTACT PATTERN CHECK
Keep dust and dirt out of the case and cover
